DJ Shadow for DJ Hero? Here's hoping so!
Got some thoughts of whose music you’d love to hear included in the game? Me too!
Computerandvideogames.com have had previously hinted that Tiesto may be involved, quoting him as having saying “I am very excited about this! I think this is a great way to introduce people into Djing. Maybe they realize it’s not as easy as they think. I am sure this brings new fans to the scene, dance music is not far from hip-hop for example. Hopefully the music I have composed appeals to all kinds of fans!” Unfortunately this rumour is completely unfounded.
MC Hammer on his Twitter status has commented he is working on a game with Activision, the publishers of DJ hero. It is unknown if it is infact DJ Hero or another title that is in production.
thedailyswarm.com – DJ Shadow, whos involvement is assumed due to him DJing @ SXSW with a DJ Hero banner behind him. The second DJ is Z-Trip also identified in the article. Additionally, Daft Punk are rumored to be part of the game but no source is cited for this.
DJ AM has self confirmed his involvement in the game via Twitter, but this has yet to be confirmed by Activision.
Activision CFO Thomas Tippl has said “We continue to add additional legs to the Guitar Hero franchise with the launch of DJ Hero. What that allows us to do is come up with a very innovative product that allows us to sell a software product plus a hardware product as a bundle so that should be good for our average selling prices. But it also allows us to bring in new users to the music genre. Because it is a different kind of music for a different kind of gamer. So we hope to broaden the base there.”

DJ Hero looks like its set for a summer 2009 release date. The official website bears the logos for the following consoles Playstaion, Xbox 360 and Wii.
Can’t wait that long? Why not pickup a DSI Console with Guitar Hero to keep you going?

“And now, the greatest news since that time I was coming home from a bar in Barcelona only to find out that Radio Slave was performing by the club near my old apartment and I freaked out because oh my God it’s Radio Slave: Activision has confirmed the development of DJ Hero. Call me a jerk, I don’t care, I’m getting this game.” – Crunchgear
“Now the game has been confirmed for this year by Activision honcho, Bobby Kotick, we’re ready to look forward to long stretches of carpal tunnel syndrome, infinite rage and general angst about how “I hit that note!”. – Consolemonster

“”Guitar/rock god simulator games have been occupying the top spot of the gaming world for a while now. That could all be about to change, as we now have that confirmation from the horses mouth, meaning Guitar Hero and its rocking rival may finally have to step down from that pedestal and let something else enjoy the spotlight for a while.” – Shiny Shiny
“Honestly though, who would actually play it and how in the world do they implement it? Crab scratch notation?” – DJ Tech Tools

“A DJ Hero game then might further propel DJ culture into the mainstream, as more kids get into the scene for real after enjoying the game.” – Beatportal
